Yealink is a company that’s well-known for producing good quality technology products such as iP phones, conferencing equipment, speakerphones and more recently, communication headsets. Yealink is one of the newer brands of headsets on the market, and it didn’t take long for that brand to gain traction, and for a lot of good reasons.
In this blog, I’ll cover these Yealink headset products:
I’ll provide you with an overview of each of these different headsets, and a way you can hear how each sounds in terms of microphone sound quality, and the headset’s ability to remove unwanted background noise, the kind that we all find to be challenging.

Yealink BH71
Small, compact, comfortable, feature rich, professional sound, discreet, versatile all help to describe this unique Bluetooth headset from Yealink.
At a glance, here’s what you can expect from the Yealink BH71 Bluetooth headsets.
BH71 - $95.00
This is a headset that Yealink has targeted for the road warrior who’s on the go and needs a comfortable, great sounding on-ear Bluetooth headset. The BH71 comes with:
- Up to 10 hours of talk time which is more than the Poly 5200 offers
- Adjustable, sliding earpiece for getting the perfect fit
- Different sizes of ear gels for further customization
- Crown style volume adjustment dial
- 4 beamforming microphones
- Noise canceling feature for suppressing unwanted background noise
- Hard shell travel case
Versatile earpiece
This is the perfect solution for anyone who prefers an earpiece style headset over those worn over the head. The BH71 earpiece adjusts to make it bigger or smaller, meaning it’s able to size to your specific ear for a personalized fit. And when you can further customize the fit by selecting the right size ear gel on a headset that only weighs about the same as 3 sheets of paper, you’re in for a comfortable wearing experience.
Connectivity
The BH71 is specifically designed for use with mobile phones, though you can also use it with other Bluetooth devices including Bluetooth enabled computers. With that said, the BH71 Pro is your better choice for computer connectivity which I’ll explain in a moment.
BH71 Pro - $159.00
The BH71 Pro picks up where the BH71 leaves off. You not only get everything that the BH71 offers, but you also get:
- A USB adapter for a better computer connection, better audio quality and longer range
- A hard case with recharge capability giving you up to 30 hours of talk with 10 hours, plus two recharges through the case. The BH71 case doesn’t recharge the headset, whereas the Pro model case does.
The BH71 Pro is a solid choice for those who consider themselves hybrid workers who toggle between different work locations. Hybrid workers may work from home, in the local coffee shop, in a car, in an office or any combination of them which makes the BH71 a very attractive headset to consider.
Sound quality and talk time
Because the BH71 Pro comes with the USB adapter and the recharge case, you get a better call quality experience, longer wireless talk range and power on the go. That makes The BH71 Pro a great headset choice if you use a computer to communicate, but you also need a good headset for your mobile phone.
BH71 Workstation - $239.00
The BH71 Workstation really takes this headset up a notch. You get more, but the price you pay is well worth it when you consider the features and capabilities of this headset.
- Workstation base with 3 inch touchscreen
- Speakerphone built into the base
- 3 port USB hub for those who don’t have enough USB ports on our computers (which means most of us)
- Built in wireless charger for recharging convenience
- Deskphone, PC, and mobile phone connectivity
As with the other BH71 models, you get the 4 beamforming, noise canceling microphones, adjustable earpiece, ear gels plus the added advantage of being able to use the headset with a deskphone.
So whether you plan on working in the office, on the go, or at home, the BH71 keeps you in touch.
BH71 Workstation Pro - $287.00
The BH71 Workstation Pro is the ultimate headset in the BH71 line because it has everything with the key difference between the BH71 Workstation, and the BH71 Workstation Pro is the Pro model comes with a charge case, and a USB adapter. This means you get everything;
- A USB adapter for a better computer connection, better sound, and longer wireless range.
- A charge case to transport the headset, and to recharge it when needed
- Triple connectivity; deskphone, computer and mobile phone
- Eye appealing, and functional 3 inch touchscreen
- Wireless charger built into the Workstation base for recharging convenience
- Integrated 3 port USB hub because we all never seem to have enough USB ports
- An on board speakerphone for handsfree, headset free conversations
Versatile
So if you’re working in an office, and you need to connect to a deskphone, the BH71 Workstation Pro has you covered.
If you’re working at home on your Laptop, the BH71 Workstation Pro has you covered.
If you’re on the go, in your car, but still need to be in touch with your customers or colleagues, yes, the Yealink BH71 Workstation Pro has you covered there too.
Headset weight
And if weight in a headset means anything to you, the BH71 earpiece weighs about the same as 3 sheets of paper. As you can imagine, that’s not much, which means it won’t be weighing your ear down, or giving you ear fatigue.
Sound quality
But what does all this mean if a headset sounds bad? The short answer is it’s not worth much if that were the case. Fortunately that’s not the case with the BH71. It has a professional sound, and it reduces background noise. Yealink states that the BH71 was designed to remove up to 90% of that noise. If you’d like to hear how the BH71 did in our noise tests, make sure to watch our video where we tested it against several different noises.
Wireless range
Last but not least, the BH71 Workstation models are rated to give you up to 250 feet of wireless range compared to non-Workstation models which are rated up to 100 feet. We didn’t test this headset for wireless range, so I’ll defer that to other sources. But in our past tests of other Yealink wireless headsets, we found them to provide the range stated in the product information.
You'll be hard pressed to find a better value
All in all, I think you’d be hard pressed to find a better overall value than what you get in the Yealink BH71 headsets. They’re lightweight, comfortable, professional sounding, fully featured and reasonably priced which checks a lot of boxes.
And the Yealink BH71 is perhaps one of the most versatile headsets available today, with its many features, especially the Workstation models. This is one headset that’s bound to leave you impressed.

Yealink BH72
The Yealink BH72 is an entry level, over the head, double ear headset that’s available in black or gray, and comes with a USB adapter for computer connection.
- BH72 Lite - $139.00
- BH72 Standard - $197.00
You can choose between the standard BH72 with wireless charging, or the BH72 Lite which can only be charged using a cable if you’d like to save a few dollars. While charging with the cable, both of these headsets can continue to be used.
Battery
With a full charge the battery on the BH72 provides
- Up to 40 hours of listening time
- And 35 hours of talk time
This puts the BH72 among the top in terms of battery output. You don’t have to look far to find other Bluetooth headsets that provide much less power.
When charging with the cable, 5 minutes gives you 4 hours of listening time, and 3 hours of talk time which is impressive. A full charge takes 3 hours.
Microphone
The BH72 comes with multiple beamforming microphones in a discreet, retractable boom. When you need to make a call, slide out the microphone boom, but when you’re not on calls, slide it in so it’s out of sight and out of the way.
Noise reduction
The Yealink BH72 features Acoustic Shield noise reduction technology. This has been found to be highly effective at removing unwanted background noise. Acoustic Shield can tame even the noisiest of situations giving you and your callers a clear, noise free call. On other Yealink headsets that we’ve tested, Acoustic Shield did an exceptional job at removing noise, so you’ll know that this technology is solid.
Busy light
The BH72 comes with a highly visible built-in busy light. This helps to keep interruptions to a minimum, and helps to keep you more productive. The busy light can be activated automatically by incoming calls, or you can turn it on manually.
Comfort
The Yealink BH72 is an easy headset to wear even for extended periods of time. The headband is nicely wrapped and padded, and the ear cushions are perforated for sound enhancement, and they’re well cushioned.
UC Certified
The Yealink BH72 is certified for use with Microsoft Teams, RingCentral and Zoom. These are three of the most popular UC communication applications used today. So if you step away from your desk, you won’t miss a call because you can answer them right from the headset with a simple push of a button. No voice messages to listen to, and you’ll be giving your callers better service.
Speakers
The speakers on the Yealink BH72 utilize a Wolff Diaphragm which is recognized as a world class audio component designed to deliver high-end sound quality. Clearly Yealink could have gone a different way, but they decided instead to keep it real, as in real good.
If you’re in the market for a modestly priced Bluetooth headset, the Yealink BH72 would be a very good model to consider.

Yealink BH76
This is Yealink's premium Bluetooth wireless headset that’s available in these configurations:
- BH76 with charging stand - $245.00
- BH76 without charging stand - $231.99
- Microsoft Teams version
- UC version
- Color choices of black, or gray
Worn over the head, covering two ears, the Yealink BH76 works wherever you call your office. Home, the local coffee shop, or with your best pals at the office, the BH76 is up for the job. It can connect via Bluetooth to your mobile phone, or by using the included USB adapter, you can use it with your laptop or desktop computers.
ANC
Active Noise Cancellation is a relatively new feature that’s becoming more common on business headsets. But, unlike headsets that only give you the choice of ANC on/off, the Yealink BH76 has four modes.
You can choose the mode that’s right for your specific working conditions which allows you to hear as much, or as little of your background sound as you like. Yealink calls this Intelligent Dynamic ANC.
Microphone
The Yealink BH76 comes with four beamforming microphones that are built into the retractable microphone boom. The BH76 also incorporates SoundShield noise reduction technology so your callers don’t hear the sounds going on around you. They’ll hear you loud and clear which makes for a more productive call.
And when the microphone isn’t needed, simply slide it out of sight. Sliding the microphone also mutes it, so rather than fumbling around to find a mute button, simply push on the microphone boom and you’re muted. Pull it back down, and you’re back on your call.
Speaker sound quality
The speakers on the Yealink BH72 sound good, but the ones on the BH76 are even better. The BH76 uses the same Wolff Diaphragm, but it also includes an Adopted Hi-Fi level code aptX which delivers true sound, less distortion and noise floor which leads to a higher audio listening experience. The bass notes are solid, the mids are pleasing and the highs are sharp, so I feel safe in saying that you’ll enjoy the sound that these speakers pump out.Adopted Hi-Fi level audio codec aptX
Busy light
Like the BH72, the Yealink BH76 comes with busy lights to let those around you know when you’re on a call. Yealink refers to these busy lights as Ultra-Wide Angle Visible Busy lights. These lights are designed to turn on when an incoming call is received, or you can manually turn them on by pressing and holding the two volume buttons simultaneously. Either way, you avoid being interrupted and can keep your concentration.
Battery & charging
The battery in the Yealink BH76 is stout. By that I mean you get the same battery output as you do with the BH72 which is:
- Up to 40 hours of listening
- Up to 35 hours of talking
- 5 minutes charging using the cable gives you 4 hours of music, and 3 hours of talk time
- A full charge takes 3 hours
An option for the BH76 is a headset stand that incorporates a wireless charger. This gives you a place to hang your headset, but it also gives you the ability to recharge your headset. And if you’re using your headset, you can recharge your mobile phone, which is nice.
UC compatibility
When you use a headset you not only want it to be comfortable, and sound good, but you want it to work with your applications. Yealink understands this which is why they made the BH76 to be compatible with all the leading UC applications such as:
- Microsoft Teams
- RingCentral
- Zoom
- Cisco Webex
- Google Meet
- Avaya
- Unify
- And others
No need to worry about the Yealink BH76 being compatible with the software you use to communicate. Just plug it in, and do what you do best.

"Adopted Hi-Fi level audio codec aptX delivers pure and delicate sound with less distortion, lower noise floor, and intricate details of high-quality music."
Q: What are the benefits of using theYealink BH76?
A: You get
- A comfortable headset that's able to be worn for extended periods of time.

- A headset that uses high-end audio components and technology to deliver excellent audio quality.
- A professional grade headset to use with your mobile phone, and laptop or desktop computers.
Q: What are the pros and cons of using the Yealink BH76?
A: The pros would be the same as noted in the previous question.
The cons would be:
- It's a headset which is worn over the head. Some people can't wear over the head style headsets because they get headaches from them.
- Another con would be the BH76 is only available in a double ear configuration. Not everyone wants both of their ears covered, because many people like having one ear uncovered so they can hear their surroundings.
- If you use certain makes and models of office desk phones, you may not be able to use the Yealink BH76 wireless headset with it. Depending on the exact make and model, it might not be compatible.
- HearThrough, or Transparency which is a feature that allows you to keep your headset on while still being able to have a face to face conversation is a feature not found on the Yealink BH76.
- Compared to DECT headsets, the BH76 won't give you as much wireless range because it operates off of a Bluetooth signal which is known not to provide less wireless range.
Q: Is the Yealink BH76 a good headset?
A: This is hard to answer because what represents a good headset to one person, might also represent a bad one to someone else. It really comes down to your specfic needs, and your preferred wearing style.
Yealink did create the BH76 to be a comfortable, professional sounding, feature rich Bluetooth wireless headset for mobile phones and computers. So if that's what you're looking for, then the BH76 should be a good headset for you.
