For those who want a place to dock, and charge the headset, the optional stand variant would be ideal. And, for hybrid workers who are always on the go, the option without the charging stand would likely be the best choice. Either way, you can decide which is best for your specific situation.

Battery Details

The Yealink BH74 comes with a long life battery that provides the following:

• Up to 32 hours of talk time with ANC and busy light off

• Up to 65 hours of listening time w/o ANC 

• 45 minutes of listening time after 5 minutes charging

• Charges via the included cable, or optional charge stand

• 90 minutes for a full charge

• 20 days of battery standby

So whether you work in an office, at home, or on the go, the Yealink BH74 will keep the conversations flowing, while other headsets may leave you waiting for the battery to recharge. And with this much juice, you can use the headset all day, and into the next day and beyond before needing to recharge the battery. 

When it comes to practicality, and day-to-day use, battery specifications are oftentimes overlooked, which in my opinion, it shouldn’t be. 

Other Yealink BH74 Points Of Interest

As with any headset, there are additional points that may escape the spotlight, but are nonetheless important. Below are a few more BH74 features that I thought were worth pointing out:

Dual Busylights - brightly displayed on both sides of the headset when you’re on a call, so those around you know when you’re busy.

Auto Wear Detection - When you take the headset off, the headset is smart, and knows to pause the music, or mute the call. And when you put it back on, it resumes the music and your call.

Smart Mic Boom - The microphone boom on the Yealink BH74 is smart. It mutes your call when raised, and resumes your call when lowered. No more searching the headset for the mute button.

Hydrolysis Resistant Leather - Sweat resistant, easy to clean and keeps its shape. Better materials for a better, more comfortable wearing experience.

Adaptive EQ - Through the Yealink App, you can personalize the sound settings so you can have the audio that matches your sound preferences.

So What’s The Verdict?

Frankly, this is a very nice headset that includes an array of premium features for a very reasonable price. The Yealink BH74 goes against the grain, much like other Yealink headsets, in that it provides a full complement of features, for less than market prices. So when you stop to consider that, it’s hard to avoid feeling that the BH74 is a great value for a premium featured wireless headset for around $150.00
