One of the newest members of the Yealink headset family is the HA64 Pro, and several of its attention grabbing features certainly make it worthy of bearing the Pro title.

In an ever growing and crowded space of business headsets where most look and perform pretty much the same, the Yealink HA64 Pro offers some features that are unique, and are bound to be crowd pleasing, which these days is saying something.
In this blog, I’ll put a spotlight on three unique features of this new headset, and what makes them a must-have in your next business headset. Besides being unique, these features, as you’ll see, are highly beneficial for your day-to-day calls and meetings. I'll also provide a quick summary of the other features of the Yealink HA64 Pro so you'll know more about it. Let’s get crackin.
1. Dual Tech In The Headset
If you’re shopping around for a new business headset, chances are you’re coming across models from the major brands like Poly and Jabra that connect to multiple devices. Devices like computers, desk phones and mobile devices. And when you do encounter these models, you’ll discover that the Bluetooth feature is located in the headset base.
The Yealink HA64 Pro houses DECT and Bluetooth in the headset and not in the base. On the surface that may sound somewhat insignificant, but in reality, it’s a game changer.
Drawback of Bluetooth in the base. When you use the Bluetooth function in a headset that has it located in the base, you’re limited in range to what the base can provide, which is typically 50-100 feet. You also cannot use the Bluetooth functionality when you’re away from the office. So you’ll need to leave the headset behind because you won’t be able to use it remotely. And for those who want a professional sound, and a wireless, hands free experience when out of the office, that’s not going to happen with one of those Bluetooth base configured headsets.
A better choice. The Yealink HA64 Pro gives you the flexibility you’re looking for. Not only can you use the Bluetooth functionality with a headset in the office, but you can also use it when you’re away. So if you work from home, from an office, or hybrid, you’ll have the ability to use the HA64 Pro headset with your mobile device wherever you like.
2. Jaw Dropping Wireless Range
One of the main reasons someone buys a wireless headset, besides ditching the cord, is having the ability to move around your workspace while on a call.
Most headsets will provide a similar amount of wireless range, though there are a few outliers in the Poly and Jabra line. The Engage 75, for example, provides a stated range of up to 490 feet / 150 meters which is longer than most. The Poly Savi 8430 is rated up to 590 feet / 180 meters which is approaching the upper level of headset range. Yealink though remains at the top of the pack with headsets that offer wireless range in excess of 600 feet.
It’s important to note that these estimates are based on line of sight, or open field testing methods. In other words, think of an open field where there are no obstructions, and there’s a clear path between the headset and the headset base. An ideal setting to say the least. And though this provides the most optimistic, and achieveable range results, it doesn’t replicate what we all face in our workplace, which is obstructions. Whether the obstruction is a cubicle, walls, doors, or people, obstructions weaken wireless signals, which in turn lowers wireless range.
We recommend reducing the manufacturer's stated wireless range estimates by one half which we believe gives you a more reasonable, and achieveable figure. So a headset with a wireless range of, say, 400 feet, we think 200 feet is a better range expectation. If you get more all the better, and if you get less, you may find yourself disappointed.
For those who work from home, wireless range can be important. If you need to go outside for any reason, having longer range means you can move around more freely while on a call, or being accessible to accept one. Or, you may need to move around the house without worry that you’ll drop the call.
Longer wireless range can also be helpful to those who work in a large office. Maybe there's a need to go to the opposite end of the office to talk with a colleague. If you need to step out into the warehouse, having a longer range may be useful to keep a customer on the phone while discussing some details with the warehouse manager.
Whether you need the extra reach of longer wireless range frequently, or infrequently, it’s reassuring to know that if it is needed, you have it available. So in that sense, longer is better. And in our tests, Yealink headsets outdistanced all other brands.
3. 3.5 Inch Interactive Touchscreen
These days, you don’t find a lot of business headsets that have an interactive touchscreen as most features are accessed through the headset, or downloaded software.
The Poly Savi 8400 series is one headset that features a touchscreen, albeit a small one, and the Jabra Engage 75 is another. In both cases, the size of the touchscreen is smaller than the screen on the Yealink HA64 Pro, and the Yealink screen is much easier to use and more intuitive.
Another nice feature of the Yealink HA64 Pro touchscreen is you can access most all features, and functions directly. This means you avoid the need to download software for making these same adjustments. And that will come as good news for employees and IT staff who work for organizations that don't allow software downloads.
UC / Teams - Your Choice. Today, there are a lot of UC applications to choose from. You have choices such as:
- Microsoft Teams
- Zoom
- Dialpad
- RingCentral
- 8x8
- Avaya
- Webex
- Mitel
- And others
So when it comes to buying a new wireless headset with your UC app in mind, buyers are required to select the appropriate variant; UC or Teams. With the Yealink HA64 Pro, that’s no longer necessary. That’s because you can configure the headset both ways right from the touchscreen.
So if you use Microsoft Teams, for example, and you want remote call answering, simply select the Teams configuration option in the screen menu. No need to buy a Teams specific variant. And for those using a UC App other than Teams, simply select the UC mode.
The Yealink HA64 Pro touchscreen is colorful, bright, large and very intuitive which makes it among the very best touchscreens available in business headsets today.
Other HA64 Pro Features At A Glance
Besides the three core features highlighted above, there are other things that add to the overall value of the Yealink HA64 Pro wireless headset. Below is a brief summary.
Speaker in base. The HA64 Pro has a configurable speaker in the base. If you remove your headset, and step away from your desk, you’ll still be able to hear an incoming call.
Noise Cancellation. The HA64 Pro comes with the patented Acoustic Shield 2.0 feature for removing unwanted noise. You don’t want your callers hearing it, and your callers don’t want to hear the noise either. Acoustic Shield does a great job at removing the noise so your callers don’t get distracted.
Long life battery. Who has time for dropping calls, or waiting for a headset to recharge when it's needed? One of the attractive features of the Yealink HA64 Pro headset is it comes with a rechargeable battery that provides more than ample talk and listening time.
You get up to 48 hours of listening/music time, up to 32 hours of talk time, 195 hours of standby, and recharging the battery takes a short 90 minutes.
Professional sound. You get professional sound quality with the HA64 Pro because it comes with 3 microphones for crisp, clear audio. When you’re on calls or meetings, you want to sound your best, and the HA64 Pro delivers.
Integrated busylights. The Yealink HA64 Pro comes with bright, LED busylights to notify those around you when you’re on a call. Unexpected interruptions can be very disruptive to the natural flow of a call, be annoying, and can erode productivity. When the LED lamps turn on, it tells others not to disturb.
Supreme comfort. Comfort can be one of those things that gets overlooked, but when you think about it, comfort should be high on your list. Just ask anyone who spends all day on the phone, or labors through long meetings, because nobody wants to end their day in search of Tylenol.
The Yealink HA64 Pro is crafted from lightweight, durable materials for longevity, and its thoughtful design was based on hundreds of sample models for ergonomics and comfort. Additionally, the headband is adjustable and padded, and the ear speakers pivot for a precise fit, and feature memory foam for extreme comfort.
Mic Boom. The microphone boom is flexible so you can position it optimally; two fingers width from the corner of your mouth, and just below your lower lip. It can be raised to mute the microphone, and lowered to unmute it. It can also be placed on the right, or left side which is something a lot of headsets don’t offer.
Connectivity. You can use the Yealink HA64 Pro with desktop computers, laptops, desk phones, and mobile devices. One thing that helps to set this headset apart from others is it can be used with computers and smartphones in the office and outside the office. This is something you won’t find anywhere else which means you have more flexibility when using the HA64 Pro.
Options. You can get an optional DECT dongle (WDD60) for wireless computer use when outside of the office, or traveling. No base required. You can also get an optional busylight in the BLT60. This busylight comes with a 6 foot cord, and plugs into the back of the headset charging base. And though the Yealink HA64 Pro comes with integrated busylights, the BLT60 gives you another option for online visibility, and call interruption avoidance.
