Yealink W Series DECT IP Phones
Yealink W Series phones are cordless DECT IP phones that connect to your SIP phone system through a base station. Start with a system (the W70B base plus one handset), add handsets as your team grows, choose a rugged handset for warehouses and other tough sites, or cover a large site with the W80 or W90 multi-cell system.

Specs are Yealink's, from its current data sheets. Systems show the handset in the box. Range and battery figures are Yealink's "in ideal conditions" numbers, and some handsets list two figures for different hardware versions (V0 to V4). "None listed" means the data sheet names no such feature.

Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between the Yealink W73P, W76P and W78P?
All three are a W70B base plus one handset, with the same capacity: up to 10 handsets, 10 SIP accounts and 20 calls at once. The difference is the handset. The W73P's W73H is Yealink's basic handset, with a 1.8 in color screen and up to 35 hours of talk time. The W76P's W56H has a 2.4 in screen and up to 30 hours. The W78P's W78H has a 2.4 in screen, Bluetooth 5.1 for headsets and a vibration alert, with up to 21 hours of talk time. All three handsets have a 3.5 mm headset jack.
Which rugged Yealink DECT phone should I choose?
All three rugged systems use the W70B base. The W77P's W57R is rated IP54 against dust and splashing water and has an alarm button, but no headset jack or Bluetooth. The W79P's W59R is rated IP67, for drops up to 2.5 m (8.2 ft), and adds Bluetooth 4.2 and man-down, no-movement and running alarms. The W79P Pro's W59R Pro is also IP67, rated for drops up to 2 m (6.6 ft), with a larger 2.4 in screen, Bluetooth 5.2, a push-to-talk key and an antibacterial body. You can also buy the W57R and W59R Pro as add-on handsets.
Do Yealink DECT handsets need a base station?
Yes. The W73H, W56H, W78H, W57R and W59R Pro come with a charger but no base, so they register to a W70B, W80 or W90 base, which holds the SIP accounts and connects to your network. A W70B takes up to 10 handsets. If you're starting from scratch, a system such as the W73P gives you the base and your first handset in one box. Yealink DECT doesn't work with other brands' DECT bases.
When do I need a multi-cell system like the W80 or W90?
When one base can't cover your site or you need more than 10 handsets. A W70B is one base, and handsets don't roam between W70B bases. A W80 system links up to 30 W80B bases and 100 handsets, and a W90 system up to 60 W90B bases and 250 handsets, so calls hand over as people walk from one base's area to the next. Each needs a DECT Manager (W80DM or W90DM) plus bases, and handsets are sold separately. The W90 adds external antennas and sync over your network, which Yealink says keeps roaming stable in crowded warehouses.
Can I mix handset models on one system?
Yes. A W70B takes up to 10 handsets in total, in any mix of the models Yealink lists for it, so office and rugged handsets can share one base. The W59R Pro needs W70B firmware 146.87.0.15 or later. On the W80 and W90, the W73H is only partly compatible, with some advanced features unavailable. When a handset and base didn't come in one box, Yealink advises updating both to the latest firmware.
Do I need PoE or a power adapter?
The W70B base runs on PoE (IEEE 802.3af) from your switch or on the power adapter in its box, and every system box has two adapters, one for the base and one for the handset charger. The W80 and W90 units also take 802.3af PoE, but Yealink lists their adapter as optional, so plan on a PoE switch or ask us before you order. Handsets charge in their own cradle.
Can I use a headset with a Yealink DECT handset?
Yes, on most. The W73H, W56H and W78H have a 3.5 mm headset jack. The W78H (Bluetooth 5.1), W59R (4.2) and W59R Pro (5.2) take Bluetooth headsets, and Yealink says the W59R Pro can pair a DECT headset directly. The W57R has neither a jack nor Bluetooth. The bases can also register Yealink's WH62 and WH63 DECT headsets on their own. Ask an advisor which headset fits your handset.
Do Yealink W Series phones work with Microsoft Teams?
They're SIP phones, not Teams phones. Yealink says the W73P, W76P and W79P systems and the W80 and W90 work with Microsoft SIP Gateway for Teams calling. Its W77P, W78P and W79P Pro pages don't mention it, so ask us if you need Teams. For other providers, check your provider's supported phone list, or Talk to an Advisor.
