Specs are Yealink's, from its data sheets and our product listings. Range is Yealink's open-space rating; in an office with walls, plan on about half. Telephone cables and EHS adapters for desk phones are sold separately.

Looking for the WH63, WH66 or WH68 Hybrid?

Three WH models have been discontinued. Their product pages stay up and point to a replacement.

  • WH63 (the original convertible earpiece): replaced by the WH63 E2. It keeps the convertible wearing styles, and Yealink rates it at up to 606 feet of DECT range, against 394 feet for the original. Its new base has two USB-C ports, so your computer and desk phone stay connected at the same time.
  • WH66: the single-ear WH66 now points to the HA64 Pro and the WH66 Dual to the HA68 Pro. Both have Bluetooth in the headset for your mobile phone and connect to 3 devices at once, against 2 for the WH66. Read our WH66 vs HA64 Pro comparison.
  • WH68 Hybrid (the version with a USB adapter instead of a base): its page now points to the HA68 Pro. The WH68 with its charging base is still sold, and it uses the same headset as the HA68 Pro; the difference is the base.

Which Yealink WH headset is right for you?

Desk phone, computer or mobile?

Every WH headset connects to your computer. The WH62, WH63 E2, WH64, WH67 and WH68 come with a charging base that also connects to a desk phone, and the base stays connected to both at once. The WH64 and WH68 have Bluetooth built into the headset, so you can pair your mobile phone and keep using the headset away from the base. The WH67 has Bluetooth in its base. The WH62 and WH63 E2 don't connect to mobile phones.

The portable models skip the base. The WH62 Portable, WH63 Portable and WH64 Hybrid come with a small USB-A DECT adapter that plugs into your computer, plus a carry case or bag, so they move easily between home and the office. They are made for computer calls; for a desk phone, choose a model with a base. The WH64 Hybrid also pairs with your mobile phone over Bluetooth.

Will it work with my desk phone?

Yealink IP phones, and some other IP phones with a USB headset port, connect to the base with the included USB cable, with call control from the headset. Other desk phones need an optional Yealink telephone cable or EHS adapter, sold separately, and the right one depends on the headset and your phone model. For example, the telephone cable 3311093 fits the WH64, WH68, HA64 Pro and HA68 Pro, and some phones also need the EHS62 adapter to answer calls away from your desk. The WH62 uses the EHS60 or EHS61. Send us your phone model and we'll confirm the right part before you order: Talk to an Advisor.

How far do you need to roam?

DECT gives you far more range than Bluetooth, which is typically rated up to 100 feet. The WH63 E2 and WH68 are rated at up to 606 feet from the base, the WH62 and WH64 at up to 525 feet and the WH67 at up to 394 feet. The portable models are rated lower, because the signal comes from a small USB adapter: up to 492 feet for the WH64 Hybrid, 393 feet for the WH62 Portable and 328 feet for the WH63 Portable. These are open-space ratings; in an office with walls, a safe estimate is about half. In our measured test, the WH62 Portable held a call to about 300 feet.

Mono, stereo or convertible?

The WH62, WH62 Portable, WH64 and WH64 Hybrid come in mono (one ear) and stereo (two ears). The WH68 is stereo only. A mono headset leaves one ear open so you stay aware of the people around you; stereo blocks out more of the room. Yealink's headset weights run from 80 grams for the WH62 mono to 155 grams for the WH68.

The WH63 E2, WH63 Portable and WH67 are convertible earpieces for one ear: wear them with an earbud, an ear hook, a headband or a neckband (the compare table shows what comes in each box). They are very light, 16 grams for the WH63 E2 and 19 grams for the WH63 Portable in Yealink's figures, but none of the three comes in a two-ear version.

How much noise is around you?

Two features deal with noise, and they do different jobs. A noise-cancelling microphone reduces the background noise your callers hear, and every WH headset has one, with Yealink's Acoustic Shield: 2 microphones on the WH62, WH63 E2, WH63 Portable and WH67, 3 on the WH64 and WH64 Hybrid (Acoustic Shield 2.0), and 6 on the WH68, 4 of them for Acoustic Shield 3.0. Active noise cancellation (ANC) reduces the noise you hear. Among the WH models, only the WH68 has it (hybrid ANC); the HA68 Pro step-up has it too.

In our tests, the WH62 did a great job of removing background noise, from loud music to passing cars (WH62 review), and the WH62 Portable pretty much eliminated all of it (WH62 Portable review). The WH63 E2 did a decent job against crying babies, barking dogs, typing and a blender, though some noises were dampened better than others (WH63 E2 review). The WH64 sounded professional and removed noise, though our reviewer felt some other Yealink models did a bit better (WH64 review).

Battery life

Yealink's talk-time ratings on DECT: up to 16 hours for the WH68 and the stereo WH64 and WH64 Hybrid (14 hours on the mono), up to 14 hours for the stereo WH62 and WH62 Portable (13 hours on the mono), and up to 8 hours for the WH63 E2, WH63 Portable and WH67 earpieces. The models with Bluetooth in the headset last longer on Bluetooth: up to 32 hours on the WH68 and the stereo WH64 and WH64 Hybrid, and 26 hours on the mono. You can keep using the WH64 while it charges.

A base with a touchscreen

The WH67 has a 4-inch touchscreen base, and the HA64 Pro and HA68 Pro step-ups have a 3.5-inch one. From the screen you can manage calls, switch devices, adjust the volume and change settings without installing software, which helps if your company restricts software downloads. The WH67's base also has a built-in speakerphone, a 2-port USB hub and an optional wireless charger for your phone.

Teams or UC

Every current WH model comes in a Microsoft Teams version and a UC version. Choose Teams if it is your main calling app: the Teams version has a Teams button. Choose UC if you also use Zoom, RingCentral or other apps; the UC version still works with Teams, without the Teams integration.

Stepping up: HA64 Pro and HA68 Pro

The HA64 Pro and HA68 Pro are Yealink's premium DECT and Bluetooth headsets. The HA64 Pro has the WH64's talk times, 3 microphones and mono or stereo options, and adds the 3.5-inch touchscreen base and more DECT range, up to 606 feet against 525 for the WH64; it is Teams and Zoom certified, with Teams mode or UC mode on the screen. The HA68 Pro uses the same headset as the WH68; the difference is the base. As our HA68 Pro review puts it, if all you want from the base is basic status information and call control, the WH68's simpler interface may be all you need.

Frequently asked questions

What is DECT, and why do Yealink WH headsets use it?

DECT is a wireless technology designed for communication devices such as headsets. A DECT headset gets far more range than a Bluetooth one: The newest WH models are rated at up to 606 feet from the base, where Bluetooth headsets are typically rated up to 100 feet. DECT also handles busy offices well, with many headsets working close together, and the connection is encrypted. The WH64, WH64 Hybrid and WH68 also have Bluetooth in the headset, for your mobile phone.

How far can I go from my desk with a Yealink WH headset?

The WH63 E2 and WH68 are rated at up to 606 feet from the base, the WH62 and WH64 at up to 525 feet and the WH67 at up to 394 feet. The portable models, which use a USB adapter instead of a base, are rated lower: up to 492 feet for the WH64 Hybrid, 393 feet for the WH62 Portable and 328 feet for the WH63 Portable. These are open-space ratings. In an office with walls, a safe estimate is about half the rated range.

Will a Yealink WH headset work with my desk phone?

The WH62, WH63 E2, WH64 and WH68 connect to a desk phone through their base. Yealink IP phones, and some other IP phones with a USB headset port, connect with the included USB cable, with call control from the headset. Other phones need a Yealink telephone cable or EHS adapter, sold separately, which depends on the headset and the phone. The WH67 works with fewer desk phones, and the portable models are made for computers. Send us your phone model and we'll confirm before you order: Talk to an Advisor.

Which WH headsets also connect to my mobile phone?

The WH64, WH64 Hybrid and WH68 have Bluetooth built into the headset, so you can pair your mobile phone and keep using the headset away from the base or adapter, in or out of the office. The WH67 connects to mobile phones through Bluetooth in its base. The HA64 Pro and HA68 Pro step-ups also have Bluetooth in the headset. The WH62, WH62 Portable, WH63 E2 and WH63 Portable are DECT only and don't connect to mobile phones.

What's the difference between the WH64 and the WH64 Hybrid?

Both have DECT and Bluetooth in the headset, 3 microphones with Acoustic Shield 2.0 and the same talk times. The WH64 comes with a charging base that connects to your computer and your desk phone. The WH64 Hybrid has no base: it comes with a small USB-A DECT adapter for your computer and a drawstring bag, so it is easy to carry, but it doesn't connect to a desk phone. Yealink rates the WH64 at up to 525 feet from its base and the WH64 Hybrid at up to 492 feet from its adapter. You can add the same WDD60 adapter to a WH64 for a laptop away from the base.

Should I choose the Teams or the UC version?

Every current WH model comes in a Microsoft Teams version and a UC version. Choose the Teams version if Teams is your main calling app: it has a Teams button and Teams call control from the headset. Choose the UC version if you also use Zoom, RingCentral or other apps. The UC version still works with Teams, without that integration. The HA64 Pro and HA68 Pro come in one version; on the HA64 Pro you choose Teams mode or UC mode on the touchscreen.

Should I buy the WH64 or the HA64 Pro, and the WH68 or the HA68 Pro?

In each pair the headset is close; the step-up adds a 3.5-inch touchscreen base, where you manage calls, switch devices and change settings without installing software. The HA64 Pro has the WH64's talk times, 3 microphones and mono or stereo options, more DECT range (up to 606 feet against 525), and it is Teams and Zoom certified. The HA68 Pro uses the same headset as the WH68. If you only need basic status and call control from the base, the WH model may be all you need. Read our HA68 Pro review.

Are the Yealink WH63, WH66 and WH68 Hybrid discontinued?

Yes. The original WH63 earpiece has been replaced by the WH63 E2, which Yealink rates at up to 606 feet of DECT range, against 394 feet for the original. For the WH66, we recommend the HA64 Pro in place of the single-ear WH66 and the HA68 Pro in place of the WH66 Dual; both add Bluetooth in the headset and connect to 3 devices at once. The WH68 Hybrid, the version with a USB adapter instead of a base, now points to the HA68 Pro; the WH68 with its charging base is still sold. Their product pages stay up with a link to the replacement.
