A: Yes. There are LEDs located on the outside of the earspeakers. These LEDs not only alert others when you're busy, but they change color to show your status.

Can it work without the AC power adapter?
Yes, but only when using the headset on your computer. Simply connect the inclued USB-C charge cable and it can be used without the AC power. If you're connecting with a desk phone though, you will need the AC power connected.
What's the ringer on the base do?
If you don't have computer speakers, you'll be able to get an audible ring to know you have an incoming call (this feature can be turned on or off in Yealink USB Connect).
