3 Best RingCentral Headsets From Jabra - 2022 - Headset Advisor

If you are using RingCentral for your business communication needs, then you may find it helpful to know which headsets are not only compatible with your service, but considered best.

In this blog, I’m going to discuss three models that are excellent choices for your RingCentral phone service, and in my opinion, the best options.

Specifically, I’m referring to the Jabra Evolve2 40 wired USB headset, the Evolve2 65 and the Evolve2 75 wireless models of business grade headsets.

Yes, you can find other headsets that are compatible with RingCentral, but these, we feel, are the ones that should be on your short list.

When using computer based applications for your vitally important business calls, it’s important that you have the best sound possible. Unlike a traditional phone that’s relied on copper phone lines for decades, calls today are more commonly being done over the internet.

In the early days of voice over iP, or VOIP, for phone calls, there was a high probability that you’d experience lag or compromised audio quality that might have been called jitter. This was largely due to insufficient bandwidth that was needed to maintain a steady, reliable call. That’s no longer a problem in today’s environment.

Now that the bandwidth problem was addressed, businesses today have been migrating in earnest towards computer based voice communications over using traditional desk phones.

These new platforms provide far more user control to easily turn on or off phone features, as well as provide management call reports and a lot more. In the past, making changes like this involved contacting your phone provider, and they would take care of it, or they’d dispatch a technician to make the needed changes onsite.

One thing that’s been very popular for those who used traditional desk phones, is the ability to answer and end a phone call when away from the desk. Manufacturers figured out how to engineer this feature into Softphones so that users wouldn’t need to return to their desk to receive a call, or to end one.

That’s a highly popular, and highly sought after feature on Softphones today. I’ll discuss this a little later on as to how the Jabra headsets provide you with that feature.

The 3 Jabra headsets I’ll discuss in this blog are those that are designed to work well with RingCentral service. And, by well, I mean seamlessly, as well as giving you the convenient feature of remote call answering.

As a footnote, the feature of answering calls while away from the desk isn’t available on all models or brands of headsets. This is one of the reasons why the Jabra headsets featured in this blog are being recommended.

But, before I begin, I did want to mention that I recorded a Youtube video on this exact subject. If you’d like to watch the video, which will allow you to see the different headsets, and even hear them in our live microphone tests, then make sure to check it out.

If you’re still reading, then join me as I dive into these best RingCentral headsets. Hopefully this will provide you with some value if a headset refresh is on your current list of things to do.

To begin, a little bit on Jabra. Some of you might know the Plantronics (now Poly) brand because you may have used that brand in your current, or former jobs.

Jabra headsets are well worth your consideration for RingCentral

  1. Jabra is the second largest provider of commercial grade headsets globally. That makes them highly popular, relevant, and highly sought after for those who rely on headsets to perform their jobs.
  2. Jabra has a reputation for developing high quality communication devices which include headsets, speakerphones, and video equipment.

And, they’ve continually refined and improved their product line for decades, which makes them not only capable, but experienced in the area of producing professional grade, great sounding, reliable communication products.
  1. Jabra has been introducing new, and innovative headsets into the marketplace that have been received well by Buyers worldwide. Among the newly released models are the Evolve2 series.

These models are helping Jabra to make further gains in market share against their largest competitor Poly, formerly known as Plantronics, who currently enjoys the largest share of the global headset market.

As I mentioned earlier, there’s been a shift away from the use of traditional desk phones, in favor of computer based softphones. A feature that most people want is to be able to answer calls when away from their desk.

Unfortunately, not all wireless headsets offer that capability. Fortunately, Jabra is one of the few companies that can offer remote call answering.

So what makes remote call answering so popular?

  • It helps you to avoid missing calls which makes you more accessible to coworkers and customers. We all like to reach our party when making a call.
  • It reduces the amount of voice messages to listen to and calls to return. This can really eat up time, and many times results in you needing to leave a voice message too.
  • It gives you the freedom to move around your office without the worry of missing a call, especially those important ones.
  • Allows you to grab a cup of coffee, speak with a colleague, grab a document from the copier and a lot more, all while being able to take a call if needed.

If your headset doesn’t offer this feature, how does it work?

  1. When away from your desk, you’ll hear the incoming call ring in your headset earpiece
  2. You must then return to your desk to access the Softphone client screen
  3. Then click on the icon of the incoming call to accept it. 4. When done, you click within the app to end it.

The Jabra Evolve2 65, and Evolve2 75 models are both optimized for use with RingCentral, and remote call control.

In order to use this feature, you must:

  1. Download the Jabra Direct app.
  2. Through the RingCentral software, access the Jabra SDK. This allows the Jabra headset to interface with the RingCentral remote call control feature enabling you to take calls when away from the desk.

One of the big pluses of having an optimized Jabra headset is the remote call control feature, which is a big advantage over other models that can’t provide it.

However, what else makes the Jabra Evolve2 40, 65 and 75 models a compelling argument for selecting them over others?

  1. Comfort. Jabra has spent a lot of time developing the Evolve2 line of headsets. Comfort was part of that development, and for anyone who wears a headset for long periods of time, they know how important this really is.

The ear cushions are made using memory foam which is known for its comfort. The headbands have been generously wrapped in padding which helps to avoid fatigue.

They’re lightweight, and designed in such a way that for many people, they find it light to the point of hardly knowing they’re wearing a headset at all.

  2. Sound Quality. The Evolve2 40, and 65 models have 3 microphones to help provide the professional sound quality you want and need. Jabra upped the game in the Evolve2 75 model by incorporating 8 microphones. All three models do a great job in delivering great professional sound, and noise canceling, but the Evolve2 75 takes it up a notch.

In my sound tests, it was clear that the 75 did a superior job in reducing unwanted background noises such as office noise, dogs barking, and of course, no test would be complete without our signature blender test.

The Evolve2 75 performed very well in all our tests. This isn’t to say the other models performed poorly. Not at all. In fact, they too did a fine job, but the Evolve2 75 was better which is likely attributed to the additional microphone technology.
  1. Active Noise Cancellation. Though the Evolve2 40, and 65 don’t have this feature, it is found on the Evolve2 75. In short, Active Noise Cancellation is a feature that allows you to filter out some of the background noise you hear.

This, in turn, allows you to remain focused on your work or call, while not being distracted by the noise going on around you. This feature differs from noise cancellation, which removes ambient room noise so your callers don’t hear it.

ANC is for the person wearing the headset, and NC is for your callers benefit.

  2. Charming good looks. Let’s be honest here. If someone is going to wear a headset for hours on end, they don’t want to wear one that looks bad. I have to say that the Evolve2 headsets look great.

They’re finished in a nice matt black
which looks fantastic, and the overall design of these headsets is top notch. They all look very contemporary, and attractive so anyone would be happy to be seen zipping around the office wearing one.

Though I’m tempted to tout the various features found on the Evolve2 headsets, like the 20 hours of talk time, acoustically designed ear cups, the 40mm ear speakers etc., that isn’t what this blog is really about.

It’s more about what makes these headsets ideally suited for use with RingCentral service.

The key reasons why these Evolve2 headsets are perfectly suited for use with RingCentral are:

  1. They’re optimized for use with RingCentral for remote call control. The Evolve2 40 model being the exception as it’s a wired USB model.
  2. They’re feature rich so you get the latest technology
  3. They’re comfortable, even if worn all day
  4. They provide great sound to help you sound fantastic
  5. They remove a lot of the unwanted background noise
  6. They have a nice modern look

Remote call control aside, these headsets are feature rich, comfortable, and they allow you to sound crystal clear and professional when on a call. And, if you happen to work in a noisy environment, or at home, you can rest assured that the background noise isn’t going to be heard by your callers thanks to the superior noise cancellation feature.

When on important business calls, sound quality really matters, so it’s good to know that the Evolve2 headsets deliver on sound quality in a big way. Not all headsets can make this claim, as evidenced by the comparison between the Evolve 2 headset and the Logitech headset in my video. And that’s just one example.

If you use RingCentral for your phone service, or plan to in the future, you may be in the market for headsets. If so, you simply cannot go wrong by taking a good close look at the Jabra Evolve2 line of professional headsets. If you do, I guarantee you won’t be disappointed.
