When we talk, we use the sound of our voice to help gauge how loud we should talk. When we can’t hear ourselves, we may end up overcompensating and talk too loudly, or conversely, too quietly making us hard to hear.

Some Jabra headsets, including the Evolve2 65 wireless model, have a sidetone button located on the earpiece, like the Jabra Evolve2 75 I’m using. For a detailed review of this headset, check out this analysis. This allows you to activate sidetone, or deactivate it. Though useful, a lot of people want more customization of that feature which is where the Jabra Direct app comes in.
Step 1
Step 2
Once you’ve downloaded the Jabra Direct application, select your specific headset model. In my case it would be the Evolve2 75.
Step 3
Select Settings
Step 4
Scroll down towards the bottom of the page and select sidetone
Step 5
Select enable sidetone
Step 6
Select sidetone level
Step 7
Select your desired level of sidetone. Here you can adjust the sidetone up to 6 decibels, and down 9 decibels.
Once you’ve navigated your way through these steps, your sidetone has been adjusted. You can safely say that you’re the office expert, and probably even qualify for a raise. Hey, you deserve it, right?
