Review video of the Logitech Zone Vibe 100
Here's some additional informatiion on the Zone Vibe 100 for those who want a little more.
Appearance
The overall look of this headset is pretty appealing. The off-white color is very
similar to the white on the Apple Airpods Max. The headband is quite wide, and
it's wrapped in a fabric material with the Logitech logo prominently displayed.
And though it looks quite nice, I found the materials used had a less than a premium feel. However, this headset doesn’t pretend to be a premium headset if for no other reason than its price point. So from that point of view I give it a pass because the materials used on this headset are about what you'd expect for a budget oriented device, Based on price, the materials that Logitech used in the Zone Vibe 100 are about what should be expected.
The Logitech Zone Vibe 100 is available in these colors:
- Graphite
- Off-White
- Rose
Bluetooth version and what it connects to
The Logitech Zone Vibe 100 uses Bluetooth version 5.2 which is one of the newer versions of Bluetooth. It’s designed to be used with computers, and mobile devices, but keep in mind that your computer needs to be Bluetooth enabled because the Zone Vibe 100 doesn’t come with a USB Adapter.
If you'd like to learn more about Bluetooth 5.2, and what new features it offers, here's an article by NovelBits titled the "ultimate guide to what's new in Bluetooth version 5.2"
If you like the Zone Vibe 100, but you see the value in having a USB adapter, then you’ll want to check out the Logitech Zone Vibe125 model because it comes with one. And if you’re interested to know more about the benefits of a USB adapter over connecting to a computer via Bluetooth, here’s some information that may be of interest.
Why connecting via Bluetooth isn't as good as using a USB Adapter
- Less wireless talk range compared to headsets with USB adapters
- More inconsistent audio quality
- A less stable wireless connection
- Some computers aren't Bluetooth enabled making the headset non-usable.
range is important to you, then you'll want to consider the Vibe 125 instead.
The Zone Vibe 100 is able to connect to two devices simultaneously. For
most people this means connecting to a computer, and to a mobile device.
Pairing up to either is simple, and in our tests it paired up easily, and
switched between them seamlessly, which is exactly what we all want and need. As with many other Bluetooth headsets, the Zone Vibe 100 remembers up to 8
devices and can maintain two active connections simultaneously.

Comfort
As with any headset, comfort starts with how much it weighs. The more a headset weighs, the more challenging it is to make it comfortable. The Logitech
Zone Vibe 100 weighs 6.5 ounces which isn’t heavy, especially when
you consider its size. The headband is wider than most, and the ear
cups are larger than most dual ear headsets because they fully encircle the ears. So the weight of this headset is about right when comparing it to other dual ear headsets. And to help put this into perspective a bit, the Apple Airpods Max weighs over 10 ounces which makes the Zone Vibe 100 headset about 40% lighter, and weight does matter if you plan to wear the headset for extended periods of time.
Ear Speakers
The ear speakers, as I mentioned, go completely around the ear rather
than against it. This helps to remove unwanted room noise passively,
though admittedly not all that much. And while on the subject of ear
speakers, they don’t rotate like many other headsets. Having speakers that
rotate helps with comfort because this feature allows the ear speakers to
adapt to the angle of your ears. So it would have been nice to see this
feature on the Vibe 100, but this isn’t a deal killer by any means because it's still a comfortable headset.
Though the speakers don’t rotate, they do allow for movement up and
down. There’s a groove in the speaker housing that allows for this adjustment. This feature is useful because it gives you the ability to find a more personalized, comfortable fit. One thing I noticed about this feature is when the speaker is moved, it exposes a short curly cord that I feel could get snagged on something. I might be overthinking this a bit, but to me, a better design would be to conceal these cords rather than having them exposed.
The ear cushions are really soft and comfortable when they rest against the ear or head. The cushion is made from memory foam which is known to conform to anyone's contour. This gives you a very comfortable wearing experience that's even better than headsets priced well about the Zone Vibe 100.
Overall, this is a lightweight, comfortable headset that could easily be worn
for long periods of time.
Sound quality
Whether you’re looking to buy a $300.00 headset, or one that’s priced
under $100.00, you want one that sounds decent, especially if you plan to
use it on business calls. So how does the Logitech Zone Vibe 100 sound?
To help answer this question, we have to break down “sound” into three
categories;
- How your voice sounds to those you're having a conversation with
- How well the mictrophone removes unwanted background noise
- And of course there's ear speaker sound quality
Let’s take a quick look at this headset, and how it does in these three key
areas starting with voice audio quality.
I’d say that the Zone Vibe 100 sounds decent. I won’t go so far as to say that you'll get premium sound, but the sound you do get is certainly good enough for use in business situations. Overall, not bad at all. And you have to keep in mind that though the sound isn't premium, you're also not paying a premium price. Keeping price to performance in mind, it does well.
As far as removing background noise, I can’t really rave too
much about this. Does the Vibe 100 remove noise? Yes, but does it
remove a lot of it? Not really.
We tested it against the sounds of office noises, dogs barking, babies crying, and the challenging test of our Vitamix blender. In each of these noise challenges, the Vibe 100 microphone dampened the sounds, but they were all easily heard. If I were giving a 1-10 score for noise reduction, I’d give the Vibe 100 a 4.
It will dampen noise, but you shouldn't buy one of these headsets if you work in a noisy environment and you want a headset to remove most of your background noise.. But if you work in an area where noise isn't through the roof, the Logitech Zone Vibe 100 should work well.
Microphone Boom Limitations
The microphone can only be worn on the left side, and doesn’t give you the
option to place it on the right. A lot of people do have preferences as to where to place the microphone, so some might find this to be annoying, though in all liklihood, no deal breaker.
Also, the microphone boom arm can’t be bent, which means there’s no adjusting it. I prefer a mic boom that can be bent simply because it allows you to make adjustments to get the microphone optimally placed. A microphone that’s too far away from the corner of your mouth for example, will leave you sounding faint making it difficult for your callers to hear you. A microphone that’s too close will cause clipping of your voice, and an inconsistent sound. In our sound tests though, it sounded fine in spite of the fixed microphone boom.
Microphone disappearing act
When you don’t need the use of the microphone, it conveniently tucks
away into the body of the ear speaker housing. That’s a nice feature you
don’t find on a lot of headsets, especially at this price point. So when you want to just listen to some music, or a Podcast where a microphone isn't needed, simply raise the boom arm up, and it's out of sight, and and out of the way.
If you move the microphone up when on a call, it mutes the call. You also have the option to mute by pressing the mute button that's located on the end of the boom arm.
Ear speaker sound
Surprisingly, the Logitech Zone Vibe 100 comes with 40mm speakers which I didn’t expect. Many premium headsets come with 30mm speakers so it came to a bit of a surprise to see that the Zone Vibe 100 came equipped that way.
When we tested the speakers we found them to provide a very nice overall sound, with nice bass, treble and a pleasant sound across the spectrum. So if you plan on listening to music while working for example, you’ll find these speakers to provide you with a very nice listening experience.
Battery stuff
Being that this is a wireless headset, I thought it would make sense to provide some details on the battery performance. Here’s what you need to
know.
If you do a lot of talking, the Zone Vibe 100 battery gives you up to 18 available hours to chat it up. And if you plan on listening to a lot of music or podcasts, then you can expect to receive up to 20 hours of audio time.
The battery recharges via the included USB C to USB C cable in 2 hours.
And 5 minutes on the charger gives you 1 hour of talk or listening time.
Worth noting is when recharging the battery, the headset cannot be used.
Some headsets allow you to continue using it while plugged in for battery
recharging, but the Vibe 100 isn’t one of them. Something to be aware of if
this is a feature you want.
Price
The Logitech Zone Vibe 100 has a manufacturer suggested price of
$99.99, and it comes with a 1-year warranty.
Based on the build quality, features and sound, I think the price is about right for a headset like this. The 1-year warranty is another reason why I feel this way because lower end, consumer headsets normally come with a 1-year warranty, where headsets costing more, typically have longer warranties. Still, it's hard to ignore the fact that this is a decent headset, and a very attractive price.

Final thoughts
If you’re looking for an affordable Bluetooth headset for use on business
calls, or for listening to media, the Logitech Vibe 100 is a good option to consider.
It provides a lot of features such as the nice sounding speakers, the flip up
microphone, the lightweight comfortable design, robust battery life,
compatibility with the leading UC platforms, and downloadable software in
the Logi Tune to access customizable features.
The price is affordable for the at-home worker, or for a Manager who’s
looking to outfit a team, making it a budget friendly option.
And because this is a Logitech headset, you’re assured of post sale
support, which is an important point given the number of offshore
options that permeate the internet that give you little to no support.
If your work area is noisy, I would proceed with caution as the microphone doesn't do a great job at removing noise. Something to consider if the Vibe 100 is on your short list. And you'll want to keep in mind that this headset doesn't come with a USB Adapter/dongle. Something else to give thought to if wireless range, sound quality and a stable connection is important to you.
But with those things aside, the Logitech Zone Vibe 100 makes for a compelling argument based on its features, comfort and price.
