The Plantronics Savi 8210 and Savi 8220 Office is one of the newest headsets in the Plantronics Savi 8200 series. Both variants will connect with your desk phone, computer and mobile phone for an all in one headset solution.
Here's the breakdown of the Plantronics (Poly) Savi 8210 and 8220.
Wearing Style
The Plantronics Savi 8210 is worn over the headset covering one ear. Whereas the Savi 8220 is over the head and covers both ears with dual speakers and active noise cancellation for louder work spaces.
Wireless Range
With improved wireless range compared to older generations, the Savi 8200 series is rated up to 590 feet in direct line of sight. In a typical office or home setting you can expect about 150-200 feet.
Battery Talk Time
Both the Savi 8210 and Savi 8220 are rated up to 13 hours of battery talk time on a single charge.
Technology
Both variants are DECT 6.0 wireless technology and is similar to Bluetooth but gives you improved range, better sound quality and more security. For multiple devices a DECT headset will always be better than Bluetooth.
Bluetooth vs DECT- What's the difference?
Connectivity
There's many different variants to choose from in the Savi 8200 series of wireless headsets. The Savi 8200 Office series (8210 and 8220) will connect with your desk phone, computer and mobile phone.
Microphone
The Savi 8200 Office series has a noise canceling microphone and also has an added feature called "close conversation limiting" which allows you to further reduce unwanted background noise callers would otherwise hear. The Plantronics Hub is required in order to adjust this feature.
Important note
If you're using a computer softphone, not all softphones have the feature built in where you can answer/end calls away from the phone from the headset.
If the softphone is compatible, most likely you will also need the Plantronics Hub downloaded in order for the remote call answering feature to work on your headset.
What's the difference between the Savi 8220 and Savi W720?
The Savi 8220 will replace the Savi W720 and these are the key differences.
- Larger and more padded ear cushions with ANC
- Added with close conversation limited to further reduce background noise
- Ringer in the charging base if you use the Savi 8220 on the computer and you don't have computer speakers, the ringer in the base will allow you to hear softphone calls from the base.
