Every day, we receive numerous queries about the best headset microphones. We understand that in this era of remote work and ubiquitous technology, noise-cancelling capabilities are a paramount concern for many. You need a device that can filter out ambient noises like your co-workers' chatter, kids playing, dogs barking, or even the wind rustling outside. To answer these questions once and for all, we decided to conduct a first-of-its-kind study. We have developed the world's first polling app to identify the best noise-cancelling headset - and we need your help to do it.

How Does It Work?

It's simple. All you need to do is visit vote.headsetadvisor.com. Our system will present you with sound samples from two randomly chosen headsets. Each sample will include a random test noise such as co-workers talking, dogs barking, and so on. These samples will be juxtaposed against each other, alternating every five seconds, first with talking, then without. After listening to each pair of samples, you'll cast your vote on which headset sounds better. Once you've placed your vote, another pair of random headsets and sound tests will generate for you to vote again.

Our aim is to reach statistical significance and objectively determine the best headset. For this, we need thousands of votes. So we encourage you to listen to as many sound samples as you have time for - your input is invaluable.

The Headsets in the Race

We have chosen 25 different headsets from the leading headset brands for business, including Poly, Jabra, Yealink, Discover, Orosound, Shokz, and Apple. We've also selected products in different categories such as earbuds, Bluetooth, DECT, and wired headsets. This allows us to filter the winner in each category, and identify the best noise-cancelling wired headset, Bluetooth headset, and so forth.

Testing Methodologies

We have meticulously tested each headset. For headsets with a microphone boom, we ensured the microphone was properly placed towards the corner of the mouth, about an inch or two away. We used audio recordings for each sound test, ensuring we could exactly duplicate the sound and length for accurate comparison. We also placed the speaker exactly 5 feet away, simulating the typical office setup. All headsets were fully updated to the current firmware version and tested on a Windows computer using the built-in sound recorder software. Below are the computer details:
