Jabra Evolve3 75 and 85: The Next Generation of Professional Bluetooth Headsets

Jabra has long been a leader in professional wireless Bluetooth headsets for business communication. With the introduction of the new Evolve3 75 and Evolve3 85, the company is building on the success of its previous generation Evolve2 models while introducing improvements aimed at today’s hybrid and office environments.

Sound quality is always at, or near the top of the list for those shopping for new headsets, because business communications demand clear audio. With that in mind, this blog will center around microphone sound quality and noise reduction rather than the features of these two new headsets..

If you’re currently using a Jabra Evolve2 75 or Evolve2 85, these new models may be worth considering as an upgrade. And if you’re using headsets from brands like Poly, Yealink, EPOS, or others and are curious about what Jabra’s newest generation has to offer, this comparison may help you decide whether it’s time to make a change.

In our latest Headset Advisor video, Drew takes a close look at the Jabra Evolve3 75 and Evolve3 85 and demonstrates how the microphones sound, and how they both handle background noise.

You can watch the full video below.

Testing the Microphones Against Noise

Clear communication is essential for business calls, meetings, and remote collaboration. While many headsets advertise noise canceling microphones, the real test comes when they’re exposed to loud, unpredictable sounds.

Generally, headsets are tested and evaluated against the sounds of office noise, coworker conversations, dogs barking and babies crying. But we thought we’d push the boundaries a bit more by putting these new headsets up against even more noise to see how they sound, and how much noise they eliminated when exposed to:

  • Chain saw noise

  • Lawn mower in operation

  • Weed wacker noise

  • Barking dog sounds

  • Traffic noise

In our video, we compare the new Evolve3 85 to the Evolve2 85 which will give you an idea how they compare in sound quality, and noise reduction. The Evolve2 85 features a boom microphone, and the new Evolve3 85 is boomless. Watch the video and decide for yourself which one sounds better.

And though you may not find yourself on an important business call with power tools humming in the background, it’s still a good test of microphone performance.

Why Microphone Performance Matters

Many professionals focus on speaker audio quality when choosing a headset. But in business communication, microphone performance is even more important. How clearly you sound to others has a direct impact on performance and perceptions.

A strong microphone can:

  • Keep your voice clear during meetings

  • Reduce distractions for listeners

  • Shorten call times by minimizing repetition

  • Improve customer perception during conversations

  • Support productivity throughout the workday

When background noise enters the conversation, the difference between a basic headset and a professionally designed one becomes very noticeable.

The Evolve3 Series: An Evolution of the Evolve2 Line

The Jabra Evolve2 75 and Evolve2 85 have been popular choices for professionals who need high-quality wireless Bluetooth headsets for calls, meetings, and collaboration platforms.

The new Evolve3 75 and Evolve3 85 build on that foundation with updates designed to improve voice clarity, noise handling, and overall user experience.

While both models target similar use cases, they offer slightly different designs and features.

Jabra Evolve3 75

The Jabra Evolve3 75 continues the mid-range professional headset concept that made the Evolve2 75 popular. It balances comfort, mobility, and strong microphone performance.

Some highlights include:

  • Wireless Bluetooth connectivity + USB Adapter for computers and mobile devices

  • Advanced microphone technology designed to isolate your voice

  • Active noise cancellation to reduce surrounding distractions

  • Comfortable design for extended use during long workdays

For professionals who frequently move between calls, meetings, and mobile devices, the Evolve3 75 offers flexibility without sacrificing call quality.

Jabra Evolve3 85

The Jabra Evolve3 85 takes things further with a larger over-ear design that focuses on maximum noise isolation and premium audio performance.

Key characteristics include:

  • Over-ear design for improved passive noise isolation

  • Active noise cancellation to reduce environmental distractions

  • Wireless Bluetooth connectivity + USB Adapter for multiple devices

  • High-quality microphone system designed for clear voice pickup

The Evolve3 85 is well suited for professionals who work in louder environments or who simply prefer the immersive feel of an over-ear headset during calls and meetings.

Who Should Consider Upgrading?

If you’re currently using a Jabra Evolve2 75 or Evolve2 85, the new Evolve3 models may be appealing if you’re looking for updated microphone performance, improved noise handling, and the latest generation of Jabra’s business headset technology in a lighter, more sleep design.

They may also be worth exploring if you’re currently using other popular brands such as Poly, Yealink, or EPOS and want to see how Jabra’s newest wireless headsets compare.

Every headset has its own strengths, and hearing real-world microphone demonstrations can often be more helpful than simply reading specifications.

My Personal View

I applaud Jabra for taking an already popular line of headsets and engineering meaningful updates and enhancements. I personally use the Jabra Evolve2 85, and when I compared it to the newer Evolve3 version, I came away impressed. The design has a smaller footprint and looks and feels more modern overall.

I was initially a bit apprehensive when I learned the Evolve3 85 was boomless, as I’ve always been a big fan of boom microphones. But credit should be given where it’s due. The technology behind the new Evolve3 series is impressive. Boomless headsets often struggle when it comes to reducing background noise, but as you can tell in the video, these new models handled intrusive sounds remarkably well.

One area that left me a bit underwhelmed was the voice audio quality. It’s perfectly acceptable for business calls, but to my ears it sounded more or less average. Personally, I tend to prefer the richer microphone sound you get from some other models, such as the EPOS Impact 1000 for example.

That said, when you look at the total package, the Evolve3 series is hard to criticize. It’s a comfortable, modern, fully featured Bluetooth headset designed to work across multiple devices and communication platforms, which makes it a compelling option for anyone looking for a premium, lightweight business headset.

I can’t speak directly to the Evolve3 75 from personal experience, but my son Dustin has been using the Evolve2 75 and recently received the new Evolve3 75. His early feedback comparing the two models has been very positive.

Update: March 19, 2026

I've been using the Evolve3 85 daily for a couple of weeks now. I stand behind my earlier comments about it being a more modern headset with a smaller footprint, and one that does a surprisingly good job of eliminating unwanted background noise.

A couple of things have come to light after some extended use. First, I wish that the ANC feature offered different settings to fine tune the noise reduction level to the noise. Instead, it's on/off only.

Secondly, and I have to choke a bit when saying this, but to me, the Evolve2 85 feels more comfortable than the Evolve3 85. The ear cushions on the Evolve3 85 are less comfortable, and there seems to be a bit more clamping force on the Evolve3 85 which applies a bit more squeeze when wearing it. That's not to say it's uncomfortable, but when comparing the two, that's how it comes across to me. Your experience could very well be different.

I still think the Evolve3 85 is well worth checking out, and if possible, trying before buying so you'll know exactly how it fits you, and how it sounds. If it checks both boxes, then this would be an excellent headset to consider.
